GRAMIN SAMASSYA MUKTI TRUST

Gramin Samassya Mukti Trust (GSMT) is a registered, non-profit, voluntary organisation initiated in the year 1991. GSMT is involved in rural and tribal development and works mainly with socially and economically oppressed tribal communities. Its main areas of operation are the Zari Jamni and Maregaon blocks of Yavatmal district. It also works in the districts of Amravati and Chandrapur. Livelihood, Health and Education are the main focus areas and GSMT strives to bring improvement in these areas for its constituencies. GSMT believes that poverty can be eliminated only by addressing the root causes and hence these focus areas are of utmost importance – to ensure a sustainable source of income, to ensure good health of both body and mind and to ensure that there is no illiteracy and lack of education to enable people to take conscious and informed decisions.
