IDEA Foundation

ABOUT IDEA : Foundation for Initiatives in Development and Education for All is a NGO with initiatives focused on the development of underprivileged children, youth and women. IDEA originated from the findings of a PhD study and it was conceptualized by a team of qualified and experienced social scientists and social workers, to deal with the problems in education and developmental issues of the marginalized people, realizing the need for adopting a holistic approach to minimize school dropout. IDEA started its work in a slum in 2002, after registering it under the Society Registration Act.  

IDEA is a Pune based NGO which adopts a holistic approach to promote education & women empowerment . IDEA has its presence in more than 35 communities in and around Pune and 11 villages around Hinjewadi and Bhor, Mumbai in Maharashtra state, Chennai and some parts of central Kerala in India and since 2002 till 2019 directly reached over   55,000 children, 12,000 youth & 18,000 women through its 5 core programmes.

With the mandatory introduction of Corporate Social Responsibly under companies act helped us to partner with many reputed corporates to expand our 5 core programs -    

• UTKARSH – Community based Learning Centers -Currently in Pune & Bhor
• UDAAN- Educational Sponsorship Program— Currently in Maharashtra , Chennai & Kerala.
• ASHAKIRAN - Skill Development Program for youth & women - Currently in Pune & Bhor 
• UNNATI - Entrepreneur Development Program for women - Currently in Pune & Bhor
• E-SAKSHAR- Computer Literacy Program- Currently in Pune & Bhor

IDEA is an accredited member of Credibility Alliance. We have also received Gold & platinum certification from Guidestar India
