Help Rebuild Lives After Devastating Floods in Manipur

On the night of May 31st, 2025, flash floods ravaged parts of Manipur, breaching riverbanks in over 8 places (Bishnupur,Kakching,Imphal etc.). In just hours, entire villages were submerged. More than 460 houses were destroyed or damaged. Livestock perished. Families fled for safety -many with just the clothes on their backs.

As of June 3rd, over 336 people are taking shelter in overcrowded relief camps. Others are scattered across homes of relatives and neighbours. The affected belong to diverse communities- Meetei, Muslim, Kuki, Naga, Bihari, Sikh, and Bengali -all united now by loss and uncertainty.

What We're Doing

INDIAdonates with on ground partner New life Foundation , responding with urgency:

• Distributing dry rations, clothes, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, utensils, and water tanks
• Providing emotional first aid and psychosocial support
• Educating communities on disaster preparedness and self-care
• Supporting documentation and advocacy for long-term recovery

But the scale of need is rising each day. Children are hungry. Women lack safe spaces. Families are sleeping without shelter.
