Context

The SEBI headed Social Stock Exchange(SSE) Working Group recently published a report for creating a Social Stock Exchange that will serve as a platform for fundraising and also incorporate a set of procedures by which social impact will be measured and reported. By pairing innovative instruments by which NPOs could associate with the SSE (among them direct listing via a new class of securities), with a reporting standard that offers investors and donors a standardized framework for measuring social impact, the Social Stock Exchange is expected to revolutionize the state of play in the social sector. Although the concept is not new and is applicable is countries like Singapore, United Kingdom, Canada, the Indian landscape is different and presents before us both opportunities and challenges.

Through this webinar, we will try to decode the implications of the SSE and what it means for the NGO sector by considering the issues and challenges.
